They come again with their words of
war,
Awareness, vigilance, combat this new
menace!
This stealthy thief of lives,
No need to take what you believe
already gone,
The trickster-gods have their laughs.
And I, whom they seek to “free”?
I prepare to meet their charge.
Don my armor orange, sharpen my pointed
words,
If it's a battle they want, it's a
battle they'll have.
The tricksters, the tricked, and the
living.
Can't see the second line of reactions. Apparently Blogger's code cuts it off. But that's OK, because "Sadly True" is on the first line.
ReplyDeleteI feel that way sometimes. I am a mom. I see how they are tearing into this generation of kids, and I thank God my son was born 20 years ago. We are going to have a generation of drugged, PTSD kids like never before.
ReplyDeleteDear, I just want to make you aware, take some of my burden, please. There is a Dr. at Marcus Autism Center in Atlanta who wants to use eye tracking to find "babies with autism" still in the nursery...1 year and under. and is doing a study where parents will work 5 hours a day with their infants. You would suppose they would have one person staying home from work...but they are parents with high risk children meaning they also have another child. That's just the environmental logistics.
What is 5 hours of ABA "therapy" going to do to a child? ABA is often suspicious, but by my estimation babies would spend half of their waking time in therapy to make them "more normal" in a very stressful (see logistics, earlier) atmosphere, with parents holding the guilt if they don't do it right their children will be autistic. Which they will be regardless.
I feel like I am losing my mind. How can anything good come of this? Yet Dr. Ami Klin was the darling of the IMFAR2014, sponsored by Autism Speaks, Marcus Autism Center, and Home Depot, all pretty much the same people running the show. The sharks are in the water.
I am sick for the babies. It is this same fear mongering of "catching it early" it was 20 years ago, but then, it was just speech and OT, not ABA.
Fricking tricksters is right.
Please okay this and delete it if I am too out of line. I think I am the only person upset by this.
(I can't help but feel like "the dingoes ate my baby" woman...but I love babies. It makes me so sick...)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the flow of your work, the sounds of it. That last sentence is brilliant, like a song on the tongue. Thanks for putting up with me. Rose
